Fashion Friday and Quilt Show Information

I found this pattern recently when I was sorting through some old sewing supplies.  This pattern dates back to 1975, the year I added embroidery to a favorite pair of blue jeans.  I still miss those jeans.

Here is another that turned up in my collection.  The patterns are making my fingers are itching to stitch!

If you are in the Milwaukee area this weekend please stop in and say hello to me at the
Show hours are:
9:00 am-5:00 pm Saturday and
11:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday.

Lorna will be there with her overdyed wool too!

Please note highway 83 north of Mukwonago is under construction.  You may want to find an alternate route when traveling from the north.

those embroidery patterns look so familiar!!!! On my very wide leg bell bottoms that I used to wear in 1968 to 1974 or so I used to put embroidery up the legs of the jeans - kind of hard back then - all by hand through thick denim = determination is the key :)

Oh, my I think I had these patterns. I made a blazer from old jeans, embroidered the lapels and lined it with bandanna fabric. Oh, I am old....
Thanks again for taking me back. I hope you have a great weekend!

These old patterns are so familiar to me. I used to spend hours looking at pattern books. My kids refused to go into fabric stores with me. THey knew it would be a long visit. Lol.

Those embroidery motifs are timeless -- I can see them as appliques on a quilt top. A great trip back to yesterday!

Love the embroidery patterns! Makes me want to embroider on an old pair of jeans just for the memories...

Have fun at the show!

Oh wow -- I think I had that first pattern. I wish I still did. I used to embroider on all my clothing. I think I have one shirt in my closet that I just couldn't get rid of -- even though it's all ripped and worn. Thanks!

hi Chris, I like the new colors and background on your blog! Very pretty. I was going through your pictures from the winter. Want to do so again with more time to enjoy them. The snow-scapes are so serene!

Not only did I have that top pattern or a very simlar one, I did embroider it on a blouse/tunic. I used a crinkled cotton, similar to what is in the photo.

And I still have the finished shirt in my vintage clothing archives !!!
