Work in Progress

Currently on my design wall is a lap quilt I am making for my husband. The pattern is from Villa Rose Designs. Most of the batiks are from Cozy Quilts.  I spent the last Saturday in May volunteering at the shop and ended up coming home with enough fabric to make this quilt and a really fun Minkee type of fabric for the backing.

My husband is always cold.  Six years ago I made him a hand dyed flannel quilt stuffed with batting and a Minkee backing.  He has used it so much it is falling to shreds.

This time I thought I would use a better quality fabric in hopes the quilt will last longer.  I also decided to skip the batting.  The colors were chosen to coordinate with our newly painted and carpeted living room.

Wishing you all a Happy Independence Day!

I bet he will like that quilt especially with the backing you are going to use.

You've been busy! And your husband's a lucky guy to have you take such good, warm care of him.

Happy quilting and dyeing --
